What we collect, what we don't, and what to do if you want it gone.

Last updated: May 2026

What you give us

When you buy a welcome book, you give us four kinds of data:

  • Account info — the email you give us, so we can reach you about your order if something goes wrong.
  • Property details — the address, wifi, door code, and check-in times you type into the form, so we can generate the book.
  • Host details — your name, phone, email, and the few sentences you write about hosting. These appear in the welcome book.
  • Payment— handled entirely by Etsy at checkout. Your card never touches our site, so we don't see or store any payment details.

What we keep, and for how long

The form data and the generated welcome book stay in our database (Supabase, eu-central) for as long as you have an active account, and until you ask us to delete it.

Anonymous analytics (page views, button clicks — no personal data) are kept for 12 months and used to make the product less confusing.

Who else sees it

A couple of vendors process limited data on our behalf:

  • Google Places receives your property address so we can pull nearby restaurants. We don't send your name or any host details to Google.
  • Anthropic (Claude) sees your form contents to draft the prose. We don't send payment info and we ask Claude not to use the data for training.

We don't sell data to anyone. We don't run third-party ad pixels. We don't share lists with marketing partners.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep your form draft saved locally in your browser. That cookie never leaves your machine. We don't use tracking cookies, ad cookies, or fingerprinting.

How to delete your data

Message us on Etsy with your order number. We'll delete your account, form data, and welcome book within 7 days and confirm in writing.

You can also request a copy of everything we have on you the same way. Same 7-day turnaround.

Children

The product isn't designed for under-18 users. We don't knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has used the service, email us and we'll delete the data.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material, we'll email everyone with an active account at least 14 days before the change takes effect. We won't change the policy retroactively.

Who we are, legally

Foreword.host is the data controller for the purposes of GDPR. Message us on Etsy for any data-protection inquiry. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
